DISASTER RESPONSE
ROTARIANS RESPONDING WHEN DISASTER STRIKES
People of Action — Serving Our Communities in Times of Greatest Need
Rotarians serving during disaster response

When hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, fires, and other disasters impact our communities, Rotarians in District 6940 step forward to serve.

Rotarians know their communities. We know the local leaders, businesses, churches, nonprofits, first responders, and families who call our communities home.

That local knowledge—combined with Rotary's commitment to Service Above Self—makes Rotarians a powerful force during disaster response and recovery.

ROTARIANS CAN HELP WITH:
• Mobilizing and managing community volunteers
• Wellness checks and identifying unmet needs
• Supporting Points of Distribution (PODs)
• Debris removal and property cleanup
• Muck-and-gut operations after flooding
• Chainsaw and storm cleanup teams
• Connecting survivors with available resources
• Providing local facilities, equipment, volunteers, and community contacts
• Supporting long-term rebuilding and recovery
When our communities need us most, Rotarians become People of Action.
