Across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and neighboring states, massive wildfires continue to threaten communities, forcing more than 60,000 people to evacuate in the Spokane, Washington area alone. Nationwide, 99 large wildfires are burning, with over 4 million acres already burned in the U.S. this year—well above the 10-year average. This isn't the first time Disaster Aid USA has answered the call. Our Idaho and Northwest Response Teams have spent years helping wildfire survivors recover what matters most. After the flames are extinguished, our volunteers help families sift through the ashes to recover treasured belongings, remove burned debris, clear hazardous trees, and prepare properties for rebuilding. We stand beside survivors during the difficult first days of recovery and remain committed throughout the rebuilding process.
